Eliminating Oily Skin

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I’ve tried just about every treatment to get rid of oily skin, and they get rid of it right then. But about halfway through the day, I have this horribly oily skin, and then I end up washing 3 times per day, which is apparently really bad for your skin, drying, which doesn’t sound so bad right now granted, and other things. The first thing I tried actually that I found to be at first the best acne treatment I had tried was to cut out all fats from my diet. I wasn’t eating that many, but it was too many for my skin. But a while after, my oil production kicked back up worse than ever, and I developed little spots of psoriasis. It wasn’t pleasant. So then I looked into it, and I found out that one of the major reasons is that your skin doesn’t have enough oils sometimes and so it overcompensates in creating its own and of course the skin can dry out. This being said, it’s extremely important to have the right kinds of oils, good fats that generally come from fish and such. This became the best natural acne treatment I have found. It cleared up my oil problem while still keeping my skin soft, and many of the oil related acne problems I had went away in short order. So it’s definitely something worth trying.

Weight Loss & Skincare

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

In some ways, I wish diet pills were better. I could imagine all these possibilities, but I can’t create it. I mean other people have in some ways tried to create my idea, but they never come through and they do it as cheaply as possible, sacrificing the actual results. For example, in dance classes I had brilliant ideas or at least so I thought about choreography. But in order to illustrate it properly to teach others to do it, you have to be able to do it yourself, and that’s a problem when as much as you can think of it, you’re not at that skill level, especially when you are making up a new move in your head. Then you can’t call it by a name and expect people to just do it. It doesn’t work that way. But likewise, the best weight loss supplements to me would be for men and women alike. But they would have certain ingredients in addition to the weight loss ingredients such as for example peptides. I am saying they would be extremely skin specific, because the biggest problem with losing weight sometimes is the fact that your skin has this horrible tendency to sag. It happens to the best of us, and there’s nothing you can do about it. So ideally, with the best weight loss supplements, if you could address the skin and weight loss at the same time, wouldn’t that be better than before?

The Rhodiola Rosea Hype

Monday, September 14th, 2009

I don’t believe in buying hyped ingredients, hyped products, or anything like that.  I believe in scientific evidence.  This being said, without question, rhodiola rosea is one of the most currently hyped ingredients I’ve ever seen, both in diet pills and wrinkle treatments alike.  It is popular in Asian countries, and it is a good energy enhancing ingredient.  But they promote it as a wrinkle fighter and metabolic booster.  It promotes a certain clarity of mind yes.  And it has some antioxidant benefits, but they are extremely low in comparison to many.  So I would definitely consider using something like acai before I would use this for skin protection, and quite frankly that’s sad considering how much I don’t actually like acai.  It has been known for its stimulant related side effects, and especially if you are trying to address your skin, you should not take it internally.  However, I’m sure they can do studies in the future to find its other uses.  I just have yet to see any scientific evidence to back it up.  And frankly, I am pretty sure some have already tried.  They just haven’t really found the right application yet.  But of course, we tend to like anything exotic as the best idea ever.

Broccoli: An Amazing Vegetable

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Is broccoli enough to cure many health woes and even winter blues?  Many wonder this, and it’s part of a select grouping of 10 foods considered to be extremely healthy and essential to any diet.  And frankly, in older times, it was extremely hard to find fresh vegetables and fruits during the winter.  Obviously now we can import and export, and travel is faster.  So it’s easier to say the least.  But that being said, we still need to take the time and effort to actually bother doing it.  The biggest thing is to plan your meals, don’t just let them fall to the back burner, because otherwise you will forget and then you will end up eating worse foods in your hurry.  But if you bulk up on your veggies, obviously you will lose weight.  But also, broccoli is known for being extremely high in antioxidants, which means that you can fight off many free radicals, and though cooking it cooks out some of the nutrients, it is still better to eat it than various other foods.  So don’t worry so much about keeping all the nutrients in even if it means you eat less because you don’t like it.  Worry about ways to get yourself eating more and therefore getting more nutrients over the long run.

Getting Your Sleep

Friday, September 11th, 2009

I have recently developed small bags under my eyes for lack of sleep.  It’s never happened before, and obviously in college, I would swear you never get good sleep.  You never really get anything good except of course the education.  This being said, you need to get enough sleep, no matter where you are, what you’re doing, etc.  You can develop dark circles and bags at any age, it just took longer with me.  Moreover, sleep reduces your stress levels, which naturally reduces wrinkles in general.  In fact, sleep allows you the time to actually take care of your skin, which in the end means that you can get younger, smoother, and softer skin on a generalized basis.  Your body is recharged, and you have improved concentration.  The big reason why it actually helps in anti aging is because frankly your cells are able to regenerate, replace damaged cells, get rid of damaged cells, and otherwise regenerate the body in general.  So sleep is ultimately extremely important and you cannot really do without it if you want to keep your skin young.  Avoiding dark circles and bags, as temporary as they may be, is really just the beginning of things.  There are so many other elements.

Roc Retinol Correxion Eye Cream

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Roc Retinol Correxion Eye Cream has been quite a popular one in the past.  People see a big name that happens to sell in grocery stores and CVS pharmacies along with Walmarts in many cases, and they think not only does it work according to commercials, it is also cheap, which is obviously quite appealing to many individuals.  This being said, I decided to really check it out.  So I tried it for myself, it wasn’t that huge a cost the way I got it. That being said, I will be fair.  I did feel a difference when I first used it.  It really moisturized the area around my eyes, and there was this slight tingling feeling that I’m not sure how to describe other than that.  The problem is that after a while, I noticed that the skin around my eyes had turned red and developed deeper lines that were already there as fine lines.  In addition, all the moisturization in the world did not actually make a good result.  This of course you can find out by just looking at the ingredients, there are no proven ingredients.  But of course, many prefer other experiences over ingredients lists.  So I looked into it for myself in other words and now I get the joy of trying to reverse the damage I did to my skin in the process.

Natural Cellulite Remedies

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

There are natural treatments available to help you to deal with a nasty element called cellulite.  It can be the bane of every woman’s basic existence, and frankly about 90% of women have some kind of problem with it, it’s a surprising number.  It doesn’t afflict based on how much fat you have, but it is affected by exercise, and it is a thin layer of fat.  Frankly, scientists have not yet discovered an ironclad way to get rid of your acne.  Exercise can help, but there is no guarantee.  However, some natural remedies have discovered a few basic ingredients that can help in many cases to reduce the signs of cellulite and in some cases, with the right exercise plan and otherwise even completely eliminate it.  For example there’s ginger.  Ginger encourages greater oxygen flow and blood flow throughout the body, and it can help to rejuvenate cells in general.  Second, there’s evening primrose oil.  It has been known to work within a week in some cases, and it basically restores the production of collagen in the body for greater thickness and strength of the skin.  Finally, there’s gotu kola.  Gotu kola has been known as one of the best options available, strengthening cells and boosting the circulation of blood throughout the body.

Keeping Youthful Skin

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

If you are looking for glowing and youthful skin, there are a few basic things you can do for yourself, and I have seen classic examples of this actually over the years.  It’s best to start when you’re young and when your skin already has the better natural elasticity among other things.  It’s much easier to keep it rather than try to get it back.  So the first thing to do is to make your own mix of facial ingredients such as vitamin C and vitamin E powders.  These will help to fight off damage as powerful antioxidants and they are definitely essential vitamins to say the least.  Likewise, exercising on a regular basis will keep the blood flow going throughout your skin and otherwise help you to see greater benefits in general.  Likewise drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.  This will also help you to maintain more beautiful skin and otherwise help you to maintain your body, youth, and health in general, which can definitely help you to see all the benefits you are looking for.  These in general don’t really cost you extra money and you can definitely afford to do it more than you can afford not to do it as a whole.

Rhodiola Rosea: The Anti Aging Miracle?

Monday, September 7th, 2009

If you are looking for an anti aging miracle as they say, you should apparently according to researchers at the University of California, Irvine, look into rhodiola rosea.  On a personal level, I think it’s a scam, I really do.  I mean they use it in weight loss supplements sometimes.  They say it will burn fat.  But to be quite honest about it, the reality is that well honestly, it’s nothing more than a glorified stimulant.  But researchers are saying that this has been proven to extend lifespans in fruit flies.  Fruit flies live I think I heard for less than 24 hours, and they’re fruit flies!  Are you kidding me.  They can’t measure skin depth, wrinkles, or really health in general.  And while that short a lifespan means about 1 minute extra is a bigger deal, they’re fruit flies!  So realistically speaking, sometimes it blows me away the things that scientists will say to be fact and applicable to humans or otherwise be these supposed miracles.  It makes scientific studies in many ways to me quite illegitimate or with less legitimacy in general.  I don’t know what I think about it in all honesty, and well I won’t be wasting time and money on rhodiola rosea any time soon.

DHEA Relief

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

A natural steroid, DHEA is produced naturally within the body.  It is not a steroid that is commonly associated with side effects or muscle building in the same way.  However, it has been used in several studies to contribute to women’s health in general.  It converts either major sex hormone(testosterone or estrogen), and it has been found to actually be an element, in a way like HGH, that declines as you age.  So theoretically at least, if you supplement it back into your diet at any given time, you are more likely to be able to reduce wrinkles, fight bags, fight dark circles, and otherwise fight the common signs of aging that you might otherwise see, which is a good thing in general terms of course.  However, it has also been shown to contribute to the relief of serious problems such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and many age related diseases in general.  So you won’t just look younger, you will actually act younger and feel younger in general terms, which makes a huge difference in everything to some degree.  After all, what’s the use of looking young if you can’t actually enjoy it due to other harmful factors in general.
