Eliminating Your Turkey Neck

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

A turkey neck is a complicated thing.  It’s facial sagging at its worst, and we want to get rid of it.  I mean who really would want to deal with that if they didn’t have to.  Sometimes it happens because we have lost high levels of weight in a short period of time, sometimes it just happens as we age.  But any way you look at it, it’s important to find a good solution.

The first option everybody thinks of is that you can get surgery for success in eliminating your turkey neck.  This isn’t always the best option, and quite frankly, it’s quite dangerous because of the risks of surgery.  Surgery can even kill you in extreme times.  But of course, hopefully you’re more protected than that.

The second option is to use an effective wrinkle cream.  Effective wrinkle creams are definitely capable of eliminating your turkey neck to some degree, because they have the right ingredients to rebuild the skin, rebuild its stores, and ultimately that will end in a total firming of your skin in general, including the skin around the neck.

However, one of the things you should never use are neck exercises.  Unfortunately, there are no neck exercises or ways to strengthen your neck muscles.  That’s a simple fact of life and by contracting those muscles, you are more likely to make more sagging, more turkey neck, more wrinkles and lines in general.  So you definitely want to stick to the proven methods of action.

Preventing Sun Damage

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Sun damage is one of the major culprits you will find for skin damage, for premature aging, and otherwise.  It should be a major culprit, because it puts you at higher risk for skin cancer, it really does damage your body, and otherwise it’s really not any good for you.  This being said, frankly speaking, it’s not that hard to prevent sun damage.  The big thing is to wear sunscreen.  You have to remember it wherever you go. It’s not just when you’re out at the beach.  It’s wearing it on even cloudy days, when you’re driving around in your car, at times when it frankly speaking seems inconsequential.  Second, limit your sun exposure, especially between the hours of 10 and 4.  This makes a huge difference in your chances of experiencing problems.  Third, actually stay away from the tanning booths.  No, they are not safer than tanning in the sun, they are actually more concentrated and can cause more burning and damage to the skin in general.  Now if you wear sunscreen, you should be able to naturally avoid more severe sunburns, and frankly speaking, if you apply your sunscreen regularly, it should definitely help.  And always remember, though having dark skin doesn’t exempt you from the risks, having lighter skin puts you at a higher risk.

Mistakes In Botox

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

There are some things that if you are going to get botox, you are going to get botox.  Despite all the risks and side effects, some people just insist on doing it, because they want that instant gratification that actually takes 4 weeks to set in.  There are better wrinkle creams that quite frankly produce greater results in 4 weeks, and the results actually last!  This being said, if you insist on being stubborn, there are a few basic ways to improve and optimize your botox experience.  There are some things that just can’t be avoided.  But for one thing, stop drinking alcohol, beer, wine, any alcohol really for 7 days before.  It will cause more bruising if you drink these.  Second, stay away from aspirin.  Yes, headaches are common, but you aren’t helping yourself with aspirin.  Third, stay busy.  You should actually be sitting, standing, head elevated, not laying down, for at least 4 hours after.  No matter how bad the headache, this is necessary.  Fourth, stay away from stress and anything that may cause big reactions.  When freezing the muscles, if you have big reactions, quite frankly these big reactions and their signs will ultimately stay around.  Let it have the time it needs, about 4 weeks, to set in.  Finally, don’t expect overnight results and be prepared for the side effects.  These are the big things that most people make mistakes on.

An Expanding Market

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Frankly, when you see most eye creams, most wrinkle creams in general, they are advertised specifically toward women.  Granted, women make up a greater amount of the population.  But most other things are marketed toward, tested on, and generally given to men.  But the wrinkle industry is centered more around women, because to be honest more women care and more women are in general expected to look younger anyway.  And this being said, in some ways men get left out.  It’s not that the same products don’t work for men.  It’s that most men are too “manly” to use a woman’s product.  Now Mary Kay was among the first to actually produce a men’s line, and frankly there were not that many men who would even use that, because they think for some reason that skincare in general is not “manly” enough for them.  But with the introduction of the metro among other things, plans are changing, opinions are changing, and frankly gay men have realized the secret previous to this.  But more men are willing to use men’s lines, more men are going in for surgeries, more men in general are taking care of themselves.  So with an expanding market, they are getting expanded choices, and many are advertising more toward both sexes now interestingly enough.

Aging When You’re 30

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Wrinkles are a general part of life.  They eventually happen to everybody.  But quite frankly, if you are 20 or even 30 and already getting wrinkles, obviously you have a problem.  The most likely cause is that you are staying out too much in the sun or you are smoking.  However, this is not the case with everybody. This being said, not everybody really keeps up proper maintenance on their skin.  They don’t do the obvious things such as smoking. But they don’t for example wear sunscreen all the time.  They wear it out on the beach, but not in everyday life.  Likewise, some forget about a healthy diet that includes fruits and vegetables as well as plenty of water.  And even if you do not smoke, just being around smokers can cause serious problems as can not moisturizing and not controlling your weight.  Now if you already have the wrinkles, you are going to have to take more expensive measures, even amounting to more expensive wrinkle creams, face lifts, etc, to get rid of them.  However, the best way is to really get started now to prevent future problems.  You may not be able to go back and change all the things you did before.  But you can certainly help your skin in the future.

Benefits Of Prunes

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Now we always talk about prunes and how you don’t want to be prune faced, prunes are for old people, etc.  You should probably then stop eating plums, the basis or the non dehydrated form of prunes.  But anyway, that being said, the reality is prune juice doesn’t taste that bad, it’s basically plum juice, and prunes should not only be eaten when you are old, they are high valuable when you are young.  They may even prevent aging as we know it.  For one thing, they are rich in regular antioxidants as well as beta carotene, an uncommon antioxidant and yet a powerful one to say the least.  In addition, it is rich in certain essential vitamins and nutrients in general, all of which will contribute to greater skin health and otherwise the fight against wrinkles.  All in all, plums and prunes are definitely something you want to eat.  They are healthy for your skin, for your body, and otherwise.  You cannot really find anything better.  They come with the wrong connotations to be sure.  But do not believe those connotations, or you will really be missing out in the grand scheme of things.

Tanning Addiction

Monday, September 21st, 2009

There are some people I know who could be considered to be addicted to tanning.  They don’t have SAD or anything, they just like to be tan all year round.  It’s a bit obvious when you’re that way all year round, and frankly with the whole orange look you sometimes see, not a pretty thing.  One of my neighbors as a kid was notorious for it as his skin was always orange and he looked like a withered up prune, it wasn’t natural, and even 10 year old kids noticed it.  It was never said to his face, but it’s embarrassing.  This being said, of course, with tanning beds, you run serious risks of cancer.  You may think it’s not a big deal now.  But just wait until you are undergoing radiation and otherwise to try to kill off the damaged cells.  Then it won’t be so fun or worth it.  But basically they say that if people annoy you by criticizing your tan or tanning habits, you have ever felt guilty or like you need to cut down on tanning, you’ve thought about it first thing in the morning, or otherwise, you are probably addicted.  Not wearing sunscreen and tanning beds are always harmful.  But if you have an addiction, it obviously increases the risk substantially because you are more likely to do it more.

Walking Proof

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Recently, I have seen one report that really stuck out to me. It was of a man who literally lost over 100 pounds in just a few months using one of the best fat burners I’ve seen. I mean I’m sure he dieted and exercised, but realistically speaking it takes a while to lose that much weight still the same. And frankly, I’m sure he could get surgery to reduce the excess skin that would have definitely built up over time to say the least. But honestly, I knew it was one of the best fat burners, I researched it in particular, used it for a while myself, sensational. It’s called Lipofuze. But when I saw that, I was still blown away. I mean you get to that point with some seriously bad habits, and it takes time to change those around. Even though if you can change them, it’s rather fast, you still cannot get it to a certain degree that fast with most fat burners. Most fat burners don’t work granted. But honestly, it’s hard to find the best fat burners, and in many ways, a serious case like that, which can be substantiated, is walking proof of a more powerful alternative in general, one that you really rarely see.

Second Hand Smoking & Wrinkles

Friday, September 18th, 2009

They are always talking it seems about second hand smoke. They talk about the effects of smoking on your body and skin, but apparently for both body and skin, secondhand smoke could potentially be even worse. This could explain why you get people who get smoking related lung cancer when they have never actually smoked a cigarette in their lives. This being said, the tendency is for smokers to develop wrinkles before non smokers do in general. You can of course use the best eye cream. But it can only do so much. Basically speaking, the heat and the smoke constrict the blood vessels running through your skin, thereby disallowing nutrients, moisture, and otherwise to get through the skin. It causes free radicals to build up, and frankly while we all want to fight free radicals, it causes more trouble in that area. Generally speaking, we use the best eye cream in part because it has antioxidants to kill off free radicals. But again, you can really only put so many ingredients of any kind into any given eye cream, let alone the best eye cream. They even say that your skin is less protected from the sun’s potential damage when you smoke or for that matter when your skin is exposed to the same exact smoke from other people’s cigarettes.

Does Dancing Keep You Young?

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Now frankly speaking, I’m not really particularly this type.  But I have to say, there are some dancers who they must be doing something.  I’m not sure if they just have really great skin products or if it has something to do with the whole dancing thing.  But they have great skin.  I’ve even seen some of them out there smoking all the time.  But yet they have this clear, smooth, wrinkle free, and glowing skin.  It’s completely beyond me how they pull it off.  One in particular I can think of right now was about 30, and I thought she was 21 the whole time.  I actually made her show me her driver’s license because of it.  I mean I’m sure it’s great exercise and you take out a lot of stress, which is a big part of skincare and aging and the whole bit.  But it isn’t everything.  And yet, with this particular thing, it seems to happen all the time.  I mean even belly dancers, and as far as I’ve seen belly dancing isn’t that strenuous or stress relieving in general terms.  It’s just belly dancing, it is what it is.   So it’s beyond me, but learning to dance in certain ways is one of those options to consider.
