Wheelchair Workouts

Some of the most impressive athletes I’ve seen were in wheelchairs.  It seems strange.  But honestly, they can get downright mean and competitive, and they’re good.  I think it’s partly the challenge of most feeling they stand at some disadvantage, but it’s empowering when they can really get back in the game.  Now if you’re hoping to dunk a basketball, chances are that isn’t going to happen.  But frankly, beyond that, wow.  Granted, I have my butt kicked on a regular basis by anybody.  It doesn’t matter really, I’m not that great at basketball, volleyball, and I don’t really bother in general.  Now if I got my butt kicked in rugby or football, I would be more frustrated.  But the whole tackling and all of that would be far more interesting with a wheelchair I must say.  That being said, if you are in a wheelchair, what I’m saying is don’t let that stop you from these kinds of things.  Many think that they will become obese and otherwise if they can’t do that.  But the fact is that there are still so many exercises available, still diet is always available, you get the basic idea.  It’s a matter of putting your mind to it and really there are various options that open up.
